The International Sugar Organization (ISO) has raised its forecast for 2018-19 worldwide sugar surplus to one.Eighty three million tonnes, up from its preceding estimate of 641,000 tonnes, thanks to improved manufacturing in India and Thailand as well as a dwindled outlook for sugar consumption.
Global sugar production in 2018/19 (October/September) was visible at 178.75 million tonnes, marginally above a preceding projection of 178.68 million, with a lower in output in Brazil helping to restriction the quantity of the upward push, the inter-governmental body stated in a quarterly report, Reuters pronounced.
Expected sugar consumption in 2018-19 became revised down to 176.Ninety one million tonnes, from the previous forecast of 178.04 million tonnes, ISO said.
