He stated the plant at Panipat will assist reduce pollution in Haryana and Delhi. It uses non-meals biomass as feedstock for the manufacturing of biofuel.

The mission will utilise 2 lakh tonnes of rice straw to generate round three crore litres of ethanol annually. It can even bring about a reduction in the emission of greenhouse gases.

The plant will strengthen the efforts to boost production and usage of biofuels and could immensely assist our farmers, the PM stated. On smooth fuels, Modi said that 75 per cent of families gets piped gas deliver in a few years.
