Global rice production in 2019-20 is expected to remain flat as a huge harvest from India is anticipated to offset decrease volumes from Indonesia and the Philippines, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) said.

“Global rice production is almost unchanged this month, as a bigger Indian crop is absolutely offset by means of smaller harvests for Indonesia and the Philippines,” USDA said in its Grain: World Markets and Trade document for November.

India production is raised 1.Zero million tonnes to a hundred and fifteen million tonnes because of adequate water resources and multiplied planting intentions of the irrigated Rabi crop.

Indonesia manufacturing is diminished zero.Nine million tonnes to 36.50 million tonnes due to the behind schedule onset of the monsoon, and the Philippines are reduced zero.2 million tonnes to twelve million tonnes as farmers shift production to greater worthwhile vegetation.
