Spot prices of new turmeric multiplied on the markets in Erode. “For the beyond couple of days higher arrivals of recent crop have been hitting the markets and the shoppers bought all of the new turmeric for their few upcountry orders. So, the buyers are shopping for little amount of vintage turmeric which are in low quality,” stated RKV Ravishankar, President, Erode Turmeric Merchants Association.

He said the charge of the brand new turmeric edged up to ₹7,000 a quintal, but the arrivals increased to 4,300 luggage, of which 2,four hundred have been new crop. On Monday, three,500 luggage arrived with 2,000 luggage of latest turmeric.

At the Erode Turmeric Merchants Association sales yard, the new finger turmeric changed into sold at ₹5,459-7,407 a quintal, root range at ₹five,245-6,969. The old finger turmeric fetched ₹five,009-6,959; the foundation range ₹four,909-6,306. Of the advent of three,483 luggage, 1,983 have been bought.
