Govt hikes Wheat MSP via Rs 85 in line with quintal

The Central Government has multiplied the minimum support price (MSP) for wheat by using Rs 85 to Rs 1,925 a quintal and for pulses through up to Rs 325 per quintal, PTI said, mentioning professional resources.

A decision in this regard was taken at the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), headed by means of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The CCEA has authorised the MSPs of all rabi (wintry weather-sown) plants for the 2019-20 crop 12 months (July-June) as recommended via the authorities’s farm rate advisory frame CACP, the resources introduced.

MSP is the fee at which the authorities buys grains from farmers.

According to sources, the CCEA has accredited Rs 85 in step with quintal hike in wheat MSP to Rs 1,925 according to quintal for the 2019-20 rabi crop, up from Rs 1,840 in keeping with quintal remaining year.

Barley MSP has also been elevated by using Rs eighty five to Rs 1,525 according to quintal for the modern year from Rs 1,440 in line with quintal ultimate yr.
