In a notification issued late within the night, the import responsibility on RBD (refined, bleached and deodrised) palm oil, RBD palmolein, RBD palm stearin and any palm pil aside from crude palm oil has also been lowered to 37.5 in step with cent from 45 according to cent.
However, BV Mehta, Executive Director, Solvent Extractors’ Association of India, said that considering that RBD falls into restrictive class, the discount in responsibility will no longer have any impact.
