Odisha to procure Oil seeds, Pulses below PSS

The Odisha nation authorities has determined to start procurement of oil seeds and pulses beneath Price Support Scheme (PSS) from farmers starting May 24.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare has accredited the State Government’s concept for procurement of 14,210 tonne of inexperienced gram (Moong), 1,103 tonne of black gram (Biri), 6,580 tonne of shelled groundnut and 10,500 tonne of sunflower seeds from farmers at Minimum Support Price (MSP) for 2018-19 Rabi season to save you misery sale.

The Centre has fixed the MSP of Moong at Rs 6,975 according to quintal, Biri at Rs 5,600 in step with quintal, groundnut at Rs four,890 in line with quintal and sunflower seed at Rs 5,388 per quintal.

The procurement operation, which will maintain for 2 months till July 27, will be undertaken by using National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd (Nafed) thru State groups – Odisha State Cooperative Marketing Federation (Markfed) and Tribal Development Cooperative Corporation of Odisha Limited (TDCCL).
