The Tea Board has introduced that the district average price for green leaf for March in The Nilgiris will be ₹15.60 a kg.

Tea Board Executive Director C Paulrasu said that this became fixed based at the average sale charge of CTC teas from sold-leaf factories at the auctions in February. He stated that all sold leaf factories within the Nilgiris need to pay this charge in respect in their purchase of green leaf from small growers in March.
