Reliance Power, JERA signal loan agreement for venture in Bangladesh

Reliance Power and JERA Co., Inc. (“JERA”), via their task enterprise, are developing a new gasoline-fired power generation mission in Bangladesh (“Project”). The undertaking business enterprise has now signed a loan agreement for complete financing totaling 642 million USD with a collection of banks that consists of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (“JBIC”).

This Project is to build, personal, and operate a 745 MW (internet output: 718 MW) herbal gasoline blended-cycle energy task in Meghnaghat, Naranganj, placed about 40 km southeast of Dhaka. The electricity generated can be bought underneath a long-time period energy buy settlement with the Bangladesh Power Development Board (“BPDB”) for a period of 22 years from the begin of commercial operation.

Reliance Power and JERA have taken the initiative in selling the Project. The assignment corporation agreed an EPC settlement with Samsung C&T in July 2020. With this mortgage settlement, all essential contracts required for the improvement of the Project had been completed. Going forward, Reliance Power and JERA will consciousness on full-scale creation and work progressively toward accomplishing commercial operation in 2022.
