Tata Steel signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on August 26, 2022 with the Government of Punjab for putting in a 0.Seventy five MnTPA long products metallic plant with a scrap-primarily based electric arc furnace (EAF).
The MoU became signed inside the presence of Shri Bhagwant Mann, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Punjab.
This initiative to set up the greenfield facility at Kadiana Khurd, Hitech Valley, Ludhiana in Punjab is a part of Tata Steel’s dedication to making an investment in a round economic system and transitioning to low-carbon steelmaking thru the steel recycling route. It is a step aligned to the Company’s goal of accomplishing Net Zero carbon emission through 2045.
